The American Gaming Association’s (AGA) Chief Executive Officer, Frank Fahrenkopf, recently stated that Americans enjoy gambling through the Internet and they have spent billions every year at foreign online casinos although the government says it is illegal. He added that many of these gambling sites are operated by people who, as stated by the Justice Department, are into criminal activities like money laundering and bank fraud. After the recent moves by the Justice Department against several online casino sites, he explained that AGA supports the Justice Department’s decision to bring down those operators who offended the U.S. laws.

While those offending online casinos have already left the country, Fahrenkopf cautioned that Internet gaming operator who took the place of Full Tilt, PokerStars among others, are even less trustworthy and they can harm American gamblers visiting their site. He advised that the country should make a safe and controlled online casino gambling experience. AGA supports the regulating and licensing of Internet gaming companies in the country should the operators pass the regulations set in order to provide safe and responsible gambling websites for people wanting to gamble in the Internet. The opening of America’s doors to Internet gaming could provide protection to American Gamblers from corrupt offshore operators and provide more job opportunities and income to the country.
